Meaning of media literacy
media literacy is an expanded conceptualization of literacy that includes the ability to access and analyze media messages as well as create, reflect and take action, using the power of information and communication to make a difference in the world. Some examples of media literacy include, but are not limited to television, video games, photographs, and audio messages.
Benefits of Media Literacy
First and foremost, media literacy helps students become wiser consumers of media as well as responsible producer of their own media. Along those same lines, teaching media literacy helps to foster critical thinking in students.
